We are working with …
Two homes in Toowoomba under construction
Two homes in Toowoomba are among the first Synergis homes to be under construction, and are due for completion in early October.
The homes are filling an important need in Toowoomba for people living with disability by giving them access to high-quality, well located and appropriate homes, in order to help maximise their independence and improve their quality of life.
“There is significant demand… in Queensland and in particular regional areas like Toowoomba,” said Peter Marles, joint Managing Director of development partners SDA Australia Group. “The response has been wonderful, the demand is outstripping supply and that is why we are contemplating doing more in Toowoomba and the surrounding area”.
Meet Luke and Nick on their journey to finding the right home
Long term friends Nick and Luke are thinking about their housing options. And so are their mums, Joan and Cathy. Hear their thoughts about what’s important as they looking for somewhere to live.
We are proud to be working with Illowra Projects, one of the initial SDA developers of Synergis Fund. Together, we are developing a housing solution suitable for Luke and Nick.
Synergis Fund and Illowra Projects are working with the two families to source an appropriate block of land to build a high quality, well-located home. It will allow Luke and Nick to move out of their family homes and into their own as two friends and future housemates.
Tyson is a remarkable young man. He coaches the Jets team for the intellectually disabled as well as helps young people transition into NDIS, providing advice on how to find the right SIL for them. Tyson is also soon to start an internship at UnityCare.
Pictured above is Tyson outside the block of land where his home will be built. Right from the start, Tyson has been highly involved in finding the location and building his home to meet his lifestyle and needs, which included involvement in the design process and picking the colour scheme. Since starting on the journey of building his home, Tyson is happier and more confident.
