The challenge
With the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) almost fully operational at a national scale, now is the time to ensure more individuals have an appropriate place to live.
Currently there are young people living with disability in Australia who are residing with their ageing parents or living in nursing homes or hospitals.
Through the NDIS, the Federal Government has made an initial annual funding commitment of $700 million for Specialist Disability Housing (SDA) and rental payments.

Our theory of change holds that greater impact will be achieved through a multi-pronged collaborative approach across the disability housing system. It illustrates how what we do together, builds better outcomes for people living with disability.
Leading the way
We are more than just an investment fund, we also strive to influence the disability housing system. We understand that a strong disability housing system makes for a stronger economy and community.
Synergis Fund is part of a coalition of sector leaders working together to develop a common outcomes framework to understand the impact of housing and in-home supports on the lives of people with disability.
